A new Solutions Architect at q-leap, welcome to Raoul Neu!

Raoul Neu’s vision can be described in one word: quality.

Raoul’s definition of quality is that all aspects, from functional to non-functional issues such as security and performance, must be covered before, during and after development, so that the focus after delivery can be on improvements rather than on fixing bugs. To support this vision, Raoul has adapted his work ethic.

Among his peers, Raoul is often described as calm, diplomatic and supportive. He’s the kind of person who repairs cracks in foundations that often go unnoticed. As part of the team, he’ll always try to go the extra mile, whether by thinking up ideal solutions or analyzing requirements and solutions in their overall context. It also supports the team by reducing the amount of work done in parallel, automating repetitive tasks and encouraging communication on ongoing tasks.

He is always looking for ways to expand his knowledge of tools and programs, to ensure that he can deliver the best possible quality at all times.

Recently certified as an AWS Solutions Architect, Raoul holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Internet Computing from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. Prior to that, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the same institution. He began his career at ELCA Informatique, a leading Swiss IT supplier, where he worked as an Android developer. Responsible for the development of an e-commerce application for a client with over a million users, he was in charge of setting up continuous integration, testing and deployment for mobile applications, as well as advising on security issues related to mobile applications and their backends.

After holding this position for 4 years, he took on the role of architect at ELCA Informatique. Here, he reinforced his security experience by working on a strong authentication solution, and as lead architect on an agile project, he helped a large company reduce its product release cycles from 6 months to 2 weeks by leveraging automation, from test to deployment, and cloud technologies, while further improving product quality by introducing security assessments and in-depth monitoring of production systems.

Raoul and q-leap share a common vision of quality and believe that they can both grow together.

Welcome to the team, Raoul!
