Europe is actively committed to promoting digital accessibility through the European Commission Accessibility Act. In this context, our services are dedicated to helping companies comply with standards, in particular those of the Référentiel Général d’Amélioration de l’Accessibilité Web (RGAA). Our experts intervene to ensure the quality assurance of applications by supervising and managing accessibility-related aspects, thus ensuring that digital services comply with the required standards.

Our consultants have raised awareness of accessibility issues, developing a testing approach that combines manual and automated testing for mobile and web applications, while creating communication strategies and methods for the customer’s various applications. In addition to complying with the RGAA and European accessibility legislation, our mission is to ensure that digital platforms meet the needs of all users. By evaluating features such as compatibility with screen readers, keyboard navigation and color contrast, testers seek to identify and resolve potential barriers to access. Q-Leap consultants implemented and participated in a variety of solutions, including establishing coverage with automated testing, creating a reporting solution in the lifecycle management tool, executing and reporting, and even proposing solutions to developers for identified problems.
1 – Challenges
In today’s digital age, creating inclusive applications that meet the diverse needs of users is paramount. This means taking into account various types of disability to ensure that everyone, whatever their ability, can use and benefit from the application effectively. What’s more, the importance of accessibility has recently attracted the attention it rightly deserves. As a result, the landscape surrounding accessibility standards, regulations, testing tools and methodologies is constantly evolving. This dynamic environment requires constant adaptation and innovation to keep pace with emerging requirements and best practices in digital inclusion.
Accessibility testing involves navigating through several key considerations:
- Complexity of standards: guaranteeing quality and durability by complying with standards. To have clarity on how to correctly present accessibility and how to apply it, not only to identify when it doesn’t comply with the standards, as the application may or may not depend on a specific scenario, depending on the website or application being examined.
- Multidisciplinary complexity: Ensuring quality across multiple platforms (Web, Android, iOS) for a digital savings application requires a multidisciplinary approach to effectively address the various accessibility requirements. Deployment challenges: Overcoming the complexity of deploying accessibility features in existing applications. Since the customer’s applications did not have accessibility as a founding element, significant changes were required in various aspects of the application architecture.
- Complexity of commitment: Effectively communicate the need for extensive revisions, or even complete overhauls of the team’s work. These adjustments are essential to guarantee inclusivity and suitability of use for every individual, whatever their disability, thus promoting the well-being of all users.
2 – Solutions adopted
In response to the challenges identified, Q-Leap’s testers have put in place a number of solutions designed to establish a solid basis for bringing applications up to standard. Our approach included :
- A comprehensive test strategy, with the development of a customer-specific methodology, reporting strategies tailored to each project, and auditing using official audit kits, enabling defects to be identified and resolved in accordance with official global standards.
- The focus was on automation and efficiency, with the selection of suitable testing tools, the integration of JavaScript scripts and tools such as Axe Dev Tools, and the use of our Java automation framework with customized reports, ensuring RGAA and WCAG-compliant coverage.
In conclusion, our approach to accessibility testing has been exhaustive. We have developed customized test methodologies and reporting strategies specific to each project, while emphasizing automation for maximum efficiency. Our focus on identifying defects and proposing resolutions in line with global standards ensured the integrity and inclusiveness of the platforms tested.
