2 – Solutions
As part of an essential software upgrade, we carried out several critical steps to ensure the success of the process, from gathering user stories to preparing the test closure report.
- Collecting user stories: We collected user stories from internal users to understand the impact of the upgrade and how they currently interact with the system.
- Adaptation and creation of test cases: We updated and created new test cases, including functional, integration, quality assurance, data integrity and security tests.
- Test execution: We performed functional, non-functional and quality assurance tests, managing the test process, capturing and tracking issues. We also supervised the user acceptance tests.
- Preparation of the test closure report: We consolidated the data and information from the test cases and defect reports, and presented them to the stakeholders for launch approval.
The new software version went into production in less than 5 months, despite a few minor functional defects. To ensure the quality and reliability of this transition, we ran over 120 test cases, guaranteeing a successful roll-out despite the challenges encountered.
In conclusion, the transition to a new version of the financial and operational management software was successfully completed in less than 5 months, despite a few minor shortcomings. The execution of over 120 test cases underlined the crucial importance of quality and testing for a smooth transition, minimizing the impact on business operations.
