Test automation and UX at the heart of Q-Leap’s activities

Thanks to recent innovations and the continuing growth of technology solutions services in Luxembourg, many companies are becoming aware of the digital challenges. Software testing and quality assurance are becoming more fundamental than ever to meet real user expectations.

Q-Leap is determined to play a decisive role in digital quality. To celebrate its 10th anniversary, while continuing to offer consultancy and training services , the company is launching a race to innovate. Two new software test automation products were launched at the start of the year: Q-Bot & Q-Guard.

Testing to enhance the user experience!

With the constant evolution of operating systems, web browsers and mobile devices, it’s essential for all digital players to offer an optimal experience to increasingly demanding users. With this in mind, Q-Leap consultants fully test websites, software, connected objects and, of course, mobile applications, ensuring that they meet the real expectations of end-users.

A study recently published by Dimensional Research shows that 37% of users will have a poor opinion of a company if its mobile app or mobile site crashes or doesn’t work well. For 50% of users, they will simply delete the mobile application. With this in mind, there’s no doubt that drastically reducing the number of bugs in an application becomes imperative if user comfort and satisfaction are not to be compromised.

But testing user experience isn’t just about testing the ergonomics of a website. From a functional and technical point of view, testing and, more generally, quality assurance will enable you to significantly improve the quality of your sites and applications by ensuring, among other things, that :

  • Increase performance: Today, nearly 75% of people abandon a website if the content doesn’t load in less than 5 seconds. Performing load tests is therefore essential, especially for sites and applications that tend to receive higher levels of traffic during exceptional periods: sales, Black Friday, Cyber Monday….
  • Improve portability: A user is five times more likely to leave a website if the page content is not adapted to the mobile device in use. Testing portability or responsiveness ensures that functionality and usability remain unchanged whatever the mobile or tablet used.
  • Functional testing : they are essential to ensure that key functions work as expected, enabling users to navigate correctly, place orders, send a contact form, etc. So, faced with these increasingly complex technological challenges, the implementation of automation is becoming essential. Not only does it reduce the time between application updates to a minimum, it also guarantees a high level of quality. To meet these objectives, Q-Leap has decided to round out its service offering with the launch of two new products designed to increase the efficiency of automated testing!
Q-Bot and Q-Guard, major innovations in test automation.

In the words of the World Quality Report: automation increases rigor. When tests are essentially manual, some phases can be skipped because the effort doesn’t seem worth the result… But when they can be automated, it’s not beneficial to ignore them. Automation brings the process to a close, significantly increasing the efficiency of test cases, which are then more complete.

Anticipating the continuing growth of software test automation, Q-Leap innovates with the launch of two products at the start of 2023.

The first, Q-BOT, is a small robot that automates double authentication (2FA) on physical tokens, including two from Luxtrust. This unique solution recovers the value of the OTP (One Time Password of a Luxtrust Token), and saves time, productivity and profitability for testers. Q-Bot can be used with Selenium, Katalon, Robot Framework and all software test automation solutions, as well as RPA (Robotic Process Automation) solutions such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism and Power Automate.

The second innovation is the Q-Guard software solution, which tracks application use cases by observing user behavior, and transforms them into automated test cases, with no development knowledge required. Developed with the help of the Luxembourg Ministry of Economy’s Research and Development (RDI) program, Q-Leap will be back with more information on this solution in the coming weeks.

For Q-Leap, these innovations are a continuation of what its employees have been doing since the company was founded ten years ago. By listening carefully to their customers’ needs, the team of experts in software quality control and assurance intends to continue expanding and diversifying its range of services, in order to come ever closer to meeting market expectations.
